When you take a flight to London England, it is best to land at London Heathrow Airport because you can step into the London underground and arrive in the centre in no time. Also you may get an aerial view of Windsor Castle, the Queen of Englands home, as you land.
Your London vacation will not be bothered by London fog because that is a part of London history, it does has fog in the autumn but not as bad as it once was. Although London is a huge city, you will want to concentrate on the centre where most of the historic sights are. The financial district, known as the City of London has most of the oldest buildings like the Tower of London. Next to this is the beautiful Tower Bridge which is often mistakenly called London Bridge. There is a London Bridge but that is a modern one, the original even had houses on it. The City of London also has some of the most modern buildings which are architchtural masterpieces and well worth a visit. It also has a surprising number of London hotels, some cheap but most on the expensive side which have been converted from old office buildings or warehouses.
Shopping is always high on any visitors list of things to do in London. Knightsbridge, Regent Street, Bond Street and Covent Garden have some of the finest shops in the world. There are many ways to tour London, with the River Thames flowing through the middle, a boat trip is very enjoyable or you can take a London bus or one of the many open topped sight seeing buses. One unique way to combine the two, is to take the Frog Tour which is a converted 2nd World War amphibious landing craft that will take you on the river and the road. Your time in London will pass very quickly with so many things to do and see, one thing that should not be missed is a trip on the London Eye, the great wheel just accross the Thames from the Houses of Parliament. The view from the top is stunning, London weather permitting.
A visit to London will make you want to come back for more.
